escape nestled among the pines with cool mountain air and the gentle, exciting sounds of nature all
around. Sleep under some of the clearest, most star-filled skies in the country in a king bed with
fresh linens and extra-thick comforters — and with a clear, enclosed ceiling panel that opens to
reveal the stars or daylight sky above, enjoy it all from the relaxing comfort of your bed.
This authentic off-grid glamping experience immerses you in nature while still being just a short
drive from local restaurants, a grocery store, and gas stations. Wildlife—including often-seen moose
and owls—is part of what makes it special, along with the forest sounds that capture the thrill of
being under the stars in a king bed, without the hassle of traditional camping.

The Space

Step inside the Starlight Family Bell Tent and find 280 square feet of thoughtfully arranged glamping
space, designed for up to five guests who want comfort, room to spread out, and a truly unique
experience. The king bed is dressed in fresh linens and extra-thick comforters, and the couch-style
futon converts into a comfortable sleeping surface, complete with a comfort kit that includes a
mattress topper, blankets, and a comforter prepared by our staff. A twin bed with pull-out twin
trundle rounds out the sleeping configuration, each made up fresh and ready for your arrival. The
tent sits directly on soft carpet—no steps, no deck—making entry easy and welcoming for guests of
all ages.

What sets this tent apart is the ceiling. A clear vinyl panel spans the full top of the tent and opens to
reveal the sky directly above you—stars and the moon at night, treetops and open sky by day.
When you want privacy or shade, a full curtain closes it off completely. It’s one of those details
guests often tell us they didn’t expect to love as much as they did. Start your morning with
complimentary coffee at our welcome center overlooking the valley, or sip while listening to the
gentle sounds of the forest—the distant calls of birds or the whisper of wind through the pine trees.

After a day exploring Yellowstone or Island Park, the bell tent is the perfect setting for relaxation and
connection. On the property, share stories over complimentary s’mores at our community fire pit just
a short walk away, or step over to the nearby communal kitchen area, open daily until 10:00pm. The
kitchen features a BBQ grill, charcoal grilling station, camp chef, community picnic tables, running
water for cleaning dishes, and utensils—all available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are
asked to clean up after use and ensure no food is left out so everyone can enjoy the space safely.
Grab-and-go snacks are available for purchase at the welcome center, along with complimentary
drinking water, outdoor games, cards, and board games to take back to your tent.

The bell tent is designed for ease, with parking right next to your unit so you can drop your bags
and settle in without a trek. Our property roads are unpaved and part of the off-grid experience—no
four-wheel drive is needed—but plan to take it slow and enjoy the ride in. The door zips securely,
giving you peace of mind while you enjoy your stay. Solar-powered EcoFlow battery banks keep
phones, cameras, and most laptops charged (please note that CPAP machines cannot be
supported). Professional pest control helps minimize insects while letting you fully experience the
sights and sounds of nature. Being immersed in the outdoors means you may encounter the
elements, so sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing are recommended. Wildlife, such as resident
moose, cows, and owls, is often seen. All food and scented items should be kept in your car, as we
are in bear country, but otherwise, you can feel completely unplugged and safe.

Our Family Bell Tent is a pet-free accommodation to ensure a comfortable environment for all

The Bathhouse

A short walk from the Starlight Family Bell Tent, our newly built central bathhouse is open 24 hours
a day and designed for complete privacy. Each room is fully enclosed, including some with toilets
and sinks, and others combining a hot shower, toilet, and sink—all crafted to bring both comfort and
convenience so you can focus on enjoying your well-earned time in nature. Fresh towels are
provided, and the space is cleaned and serviced multiple times daily by our attentive staff, ensuring
it’s always ready when you need it. Whether you’re an early riser heading out to Yellowstone or
exploring, or winding down under the stars after a long day, the bathhouse is always ready—clean,
private, and just steps away.

Guest Experience

Step outside your tent and be surrounded by pine forest, wildflower meadows, and open sky— 15
acres of curated glamping set within thousands of acres of unspoiled Idaho wilderness. Guests
often tell us they didn’t expect Island Park to feel this wide, peaceful, and unspoiled—it’s a feeling
you truly have to experience in person. Each evening around 7:00pm (weather permitting), our
team lights the communal fire pit, a simple ritual that draws guests from near and far and becomes
a favorite for many returning visitors. Mornings begin with complimentary coffee and tea at our
welcome center, where you can take in sweeping valley views while soaking in the sounds of the
forest and the crisp mountain air. If you’re an early riser, you might catch a glimpse of our resident
moose, watch cows grazing, or spot an owl passing overhead. Every stay includes a complimentary
s’mores kit, and additional comforts are available for purchase or use, including chairs, bug spray,
coolers, sunscreen, bear spray, portable cribs, grab-and-go snacks, cold drinks, and branded
merchandise—all easily accessible at the welcome center to make your time effortless.

Yellowstone’s west entrance is just a 19-minute drive away, and both Henry’s Lake and Henry’s
Fork River, known for world-class fishing, are both within a 10-minute drive. A local grocery store is
five minutes by car, and several restaurants in Island Park are nearby. Trails for hiking, biking, and
ATV adventures weave through the surrounding area and are widely accessible. While bears are in
the area, none have been sighted on the property. To help keep it that way, we ask that all food and
scented items be stored in your car and not brought into the tent. Bear spray is available at the
welcome center so you can explore with confidence and peace of mind.

Important Notes

Our Starlight Family Bell Tent is designed for a true glamping escape—a place to unplug while still
enjoying modern comforts. While there is no Wi-Fi on the property, guests have access to cell
service nearly everywhere on site, letting you stay connected if needed while still embracing a
break from screens. Solar power keeps phones, cameras, and most laptops charged, though CPAP
machines cannot be supported at this time. This is a pet-free accommodation. Starlight Retreat
operates seasonally, opening just a few days before Memorial Day weekend and running through
mid-September, offering the perfect window to enjoy warm days, cool nights, and star-filled skies.

The Starlight Family Bell Tent is perfect for families, small groups, and couples who want more
sleeping space without giving up the intimate, ground-level feel of a bell tent. It’s ideal for
Yellowstone visitors looking for something truly unique—a comfortable retreat with a king bed, room
for the whole group, a ceiling that opens to the sky, and the kind of stillness that’s hard to find
anywhere else. Guests who enjoy unplugging, stargazing from their bed, and spending time in
nature together will feel right at home here.

This stay is less suited for those expecting a traditional hotel experience, guests traveling with pets,
or anyone uncomfortable with outdoor conditions, shared-property environments, or the occasional
wildlife visitor. At Starlight, nature is part of the story, and the experience is designed for those ready
to embrace it fully.

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to explore the full 15-acre property, from the pine-scented forest and wildflower
meadows to the shared gathering areas tucked throughout the grounds. Our team is on-site and
always happy to share local recommendations, recent wildlife sightings, or any tips to help you
make the most of your stay—while giving you space to fully enjoy the peace and beauty of your
surroundings.

House Rules

Check-in at Starlight Family Bell Tent is available from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, with checkout at
10:00am. Early check-in is available from 2:00pm for $20. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00pm
to 7:00am to maintain the peace and serenity of the property. Smoking or vaping is not permitted
anywhere on the grounds. To keep both guests and local wildlife safe, all food, drinks, and scented
items must be stored securely in your vehicle rather than in the tents. This is a pet-free
accommodation.

Location

Starlight Retreat is tucked into the aspens and pines of Island Park, Idaho, about five minutes off
Highway 20. Yellowstone’s west entrance is 19 minutes away, and Henry’s Lake, known for world-
class fishing, is just 10 minutes up the road. A local grocery store is five minutes by car, and several
restaurants in Island Park are close enough for a quick meal or takeout, with additional dining and
shopping options available in nearby West Yellowstone. For travelers arriving by air, Idaho Falls
Regional Airport (IDA) is about 1.5 hours south, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) is
roughly two hours north, and Yellowstone Airport (WYS) in West Yellowstone—served seasonally
by Delta and United—is just a 25-minute drive. Starlight’s location offers the perfect balance of
convenience for adventure and exploration, paired with the peace, relaxation, and immersive
wilderness of true glamping once you arrive.
